About St Luke’s

Welcome to St Luke’s

St Luke’s loves to welcome visitors from across Norwich and further afield. We are a community of all ages and backgrounds, committed to our vision of connecting the wider community to Christ and you are welcome to join us as we share worship and prayer together.

There are two churches in our parish – St Luke’s and St. Augustine’s – and between us, we offer styles of worship to suit everyone. You can find out more about St. Augustine’s Church and the Norwich Christian Meditation Centre here.

What are we all about?

God is prepared to give you a new start, forgiveness, real certainty, as we face the future with Him. His gift of real life, eternal life, is free. We can do nothing to earn it. So, what does God want us to do? He wants us simply to put our faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ – to trust Him as our Lord and Saviour. Week by week that is certainly something worth celebrating!

Welcome, inclusiveness and environment, as well as reaching out to marginalised and vulnerable communities are really important to us.  We are members of Inclusive Church, we host a weekly elderly persons’ lunch club and weekly English language learning, and we have recently become a Bronze Ecochurch.

Our mission

In times where the traditional support structures of home and family are often stretched by family breakup and distance, we seek to provide an inclusive community of wholeness where people can be welcomed, befriended and supported. We believe that by following Jesus’ example and teachings, we can practically and spiritually demonstrate the power of his teaching by what we say and do.

Our Vicar

We are delighted to announce that the Rev Sarah Quantrill is the new Priest-in-Charge of St Luke’s with St Augustine’s.  She was licensed on 12 July at 7pm at St Luke’s Church, Aylsham Road.

Our previous vicar Rev David Austin moved in April 2018 to two new parishes, Holy Trinity Coldhurst and St Stephen and All Martyrs in Oldham. If you need to get in touch with David, please email him at dsj.austin@hotmail.com or visit David’s Facebook page.
